Listening comprehension

Listen to the dialogue from our article ‘Getting dressed for winter’, on page 17 of English Now No 95. Then reorder the sentences below to create a dialogue. After reordering the sentences, read the dialogue to practise your English speaking.

a. Linda: We could walk to the shops. I know where you can buy some warm clothing.
b. Dave: Thank you. I don’t have many warm clothes. Please, can I borrow a scarf, too?
c. Linda: Of course you can. Put this woolly hat on as well.
d. Dave: Yes, please!
e. Linda: No, it’s quite cheap. All the students buy their clothes there.
f. Dave: Great. I can buy a hat, a scarf, a pair of gloves and some nice, thick socks.
g. Linda: No problem. You look like a real Scotsman now!
h. Dave: Thanks, Linda, and thank you for the loan of your clothes.
i. Linda: They’re a bit thin. You can borrow this thick jumper if you like.
j. Dave: Wow, it’s snowing outside! We don’t have snow where I live in Australia.
k. Linda: Do you want to go for a walk in the snow?
l. Dave: Thanks, Linda.
m. Linda: Put your jumper and coat on then.
n. Dave: Is it very expensive?
o. Linda: You probably need some boots, too. If we have heavy snow, you can’t wear those shoes.
p. Dave: Okay.
